Restaurant Canvas - on the seventh floor of Volkshotel - is looking for enthusiastic and experienced breakfast chef. From early morning until late at night, Canvas is a place for breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails. A meeting place where many different people cross paths. Do you have no quarrel with your alarm clock in the morning and do you see preparing a daily extensive breakfast buffet as a fun challenge? Then you might become our newest colleague.

You are

• A morning person
• An independent working chef (breakfast chef is an advantage)
• Familiar with working according to HACCP guidelines
• Always on time
• Available at least on Sundays and Mondays (immediately is a plus)
• Living in Amsterdam (or surroundings)?

This is what your day looks like

Your shift starts on Monday at 06:00. In one hour you start up the kitchen and prepare all fresh products before the first guests arrive. Between 07:00 and 11:00 you make sure the buffet is sufficiently filled to provide all (hotel) guests with a tasty breakfast. In between you help your colleagues with making sandwiches for BQT parties and other kitchen tasks. When your shift is over at 14:00, the kitchen is completely clean again, ready for use and your colleagues take over for lunch and dinner. Need to relax after your shift? Splash around in the hot tubs and sauna on the eighth floor. You can use these for free. Not going home yet? No need to, as an employee you get a discount on everything in the hotel (programming, rooms, food and drinks). In addition, all employees get to join Volkshotel's weekly yoga classes for free.

What we offer

Working days are negotiable. Salary is in accordance with the Horeca CLA and in line with your responsibilities. As an employee of Volkshotel you can stay one night for free in the hotel every year.
