Runner / Barback Doka

About the role

Doka is an underground and intimate sound bar where the night, music and other forms of culture come together. The Doka programme is the result of collaborations with Broedplaats VKG – the creative studios within Volkshotel – and artistic talent within and outside Amsterdam. This makes Doka the living room and extension of DJs, artists, live bands and other creatives.

Sound bar Doka – located in the basement of Volkshotel – is looking for a Runner / Barback.
Are you energetic, stress-resistant, and do you enjoy making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes? As a Runner/Barback you support our bartenders and help create the ultimate sound bar experience for our guests. Thanks to your efforts, the bar stays fast, clean, and well-stocked, allowing the bartenders to fully focus on service.

If working at night is no problem for you, you might just be our newest team member.

Your tasks

• Restocking drinks, glasses, ice, and other bar supplies.

• Washing and returning glasses.

• Clearing away empty bottles and waste quickly and neatly.

• Keeping the bar and workstations clean during shifts.

• Assisting with setting up and closing down the bar.

• Proactively supporting bartenders whenever needed.
  
  

What we’re looking for

Are you:

• Living in Amsterdam (or nearby)?

• Presentable, social, and guest-oriented?

• A real night owl?

• Flexible and stress-resistant?

• 18 years or older?

• Available in evenings and weekends?

• Specifically available on Fridays and Saturdays from 23:30–07:00?

• Fit enough to stay active all night?

• A team player with a hands-on mentality?

• Reliable, energetic, and stress-resistant?

We’re offering an on-call contract with a minimum availability of 16 hours per week. Salary is in line with the Dutch hospitality collective labor agreement (CAO) and based on your responsibilities.
