Restaurant Canvas - on the seventh floor of Volkshotel - is looking for an enthusiastic experienced new team member for the breakfast shift. From early in the morning until late at night, Canvas is a place for breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails. A meeting place where many different people come together. Do you enjoy working in a creative and international environment and do you have experience in hospitality? Are you able to walk with 4 plates? Then you might become our newest team member!

Do you want to stretch after your shift? That’s possible. All employees can participate in Volkshotel's weekly yoga classes free of charge. Afterwards you clock in and take the elevator to the seventh floor. The atmosphere in Canvas is free and informal, so you don't have to change. Together with the operational team you are responsible for good service, but also for efficient staffing of the team. As a real early bird, will you together with your colleague take care of the breakfast(buffet) for our hotel guests. Canvas serves breakfast, lunch and diner to guests from all over the world, or from 'just around the corner'. Hanging out after your shift? No problem. Working with a view of the city of Amsterdam is nice, but enjoying it yourself with a closing drink might be even better. You can also take a dip in our hot tubs on the eighth floor. Not home yet? You don't have to, as an employee you get a discount on everything (programming, rooms, food and drinks) in the hotel.

What we offer:
It is a position for 38 hours per week. Your shifts will be from 6AM. Salary in conformity with the horeca CAO and in accordance with your responsibilities. As an employee of Volkshotel you can stay at the hotel one night per year for free. In addition, you will have the following benefits: an additional vacation day, performance raise, year-end bonus, discounts on any activities in the building, sociable drinks and the annual Volks-anniversary party.

De diverse functionaliteiten van de ruimte maken van Canvas een plek die constant in beweging is. Publieksstromen wisselen elkaar af, vullen elkaar aan en overlappen op veel tijden, waardoor er een interessante mix van mensen ontstaat die wellicht allemaal met een andere insteek naar deze plek zijn gekomen.
Canvas is toegankelijk, ongedwongen en pretentieloos, maar levert wel kwaliteit en goede service tegen een betaalbare prijs. Canvas moet een plek zijn waar je komt aanwaaien en snel ‘per-ongeluk’ blijft hangen. Hier ontmoet je mensen die je anders nooit zou spreken. Door de ongedwongen en daardoor gezellige sfeer laat iedereen hun status minder gelden en kunnen er interessante ontmoetingen ontstaan.
In Canvas is iedereen welkom, want het is juist de verscheidenheid aan mensen dat Canvas zo bijzonder maakt. De muziek en het eten staan niet op de eerste plek; de gasten komen voor een leuke tijd en de gezellige sfeer.
We stimuleren de talrijke ontmoetingen die in Canvas plaatsvinden. Van zakelijk ontmoetingen, tot vriendschappelijke etentjes, tot een lekkere flirt aan de bar of op de dansvloer. Maar denk ook aan de ontmoetingen tussen dag en nacht, eten en dansen, etc.
Als je het zelf leuk hebt, hebben anderen het ook leuk. We proberen een plezierige omgeving te creëren voor iedereen. Canvas is een plek waar je naartoe gaat om plezier te hebben.
We blijven graag bij onszelf. We zijn nuchter, zonder poespas maar altijd amicaal en warm. We laten graag onze eigen smaak zien, zowel in het eten als de muziek en inrichting.
