Kitchen Chef at Volkshotel/Restaurant Canvas (Full-time)

Volkshotel is looking for a kitchen chef for Restaurant Canvas, Café Werkplaats, and event banqueting. From early morning until late at night, Volkshotel is a spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. If you enjoy working in a creative and international environment and have at least two years of relevant experience as head of a large kitchen, you might be our newest colleague.

What you will do:

• Lead the teams of Restaurant Canvas (approximately 100 seats), Café Werkplaats (approximately 100 seats), and the event banqueting (4 rooms), both organizationally and culinarily.

• Ensure the quality of the food.

• Collaborate with the executive chef to develop menus for the outlets and banqueting.

• Manage a team of 15 to 20 employees (kitchen and dishwashing).

• Handle recruitment and selection of the team.

• Staff evaluations.

• Maintain, monitor, and keep HACCP up-to-date.

• Monitor budgets and staff productivity.

• Manage purchasing.

Who we are looking for:

• At least four years of relevant experience as a chef or sous chef.

• You are organized and possess strong leadership qualities.

• You are flexible, sociable, and speak good English.

• You have experience with large banqueting events.

• Preferably, you have experience working in a hotel kitchen or a kitchen with multiple outlets.

• You can further develop and motivate a team.

• You are flexible and willing to work hands-on.

• You enjoy the culinary profession and primarily work in the kitchen.
